Ballydehob.ie covers the 2022 Festival

We are pleased announce the return  of our Sea Shanty Festival planned for 17 21 June 2022

Coordinator Dick Miles is pleased to welcome Tom Lewis back to the festival for the second time, along with old favourites such as Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly, , Rosie Stewart, AndyKenna, Jim Mageean and Pat Sheridan  and Merfolk

.Merfolk are an international folk ensemble who sing magical songs of waterways and the sea. Core members Anita Reilly (Ireland), Jess Foster (Australia) and Chris Wilson (UK) also sing in the London Sea Shanty Collective. Merfolk sing a capella or with traditional instrumental accompaniment in English, Irish, Welsh and Cornish. Joining Merfolk in Ballydehob are Regina Reilly, Brian Madigan and Beth Askham.

For the first time, we welcome Sheila Park and Gemma Khawaja  Gemma…performs traditional songs and ballads and her own compositions with captivating
authority…Folk in minimum frills, maximum thrills style.

Sea songs, shanties, dance, craft market, and craft stalls, music in the pubs and Ballydehob Community Hall. Most events are free except for headline fundraiser concert.

Supported by , Ballydehob Community Council, Cork County Council and the local community. The Ballydehob Fastnet Maritime Folk Festival takes place every June.
